The World Brass Association will celebrate 23rd of September 2017 as official WORLD BRASS DAY, staging a global umpteen-times performance of the official WORLD BRASS DAY tune, ‘La Mourisque’ from Danserye (1551) by Tielman Susato. The music is available for any combination of players, from soloists through ensembles to orchestras (40 different options), and may be downloaded free of charge from www.obrasso.com.
The WORLD BRASS DAY has been launched by Prof. Otto Sauter, the founder of the World Brass Association and a world-famous German trumpeter. The World Brass Association is committed to catering to the needs of brass music and promoting education and a professional and intercultural exchange in co-operation with international brass festivals, universities, orchestras, operas and concert halls, music academies and musicians.
The World Brass Association is calling upon all brass musicians around the world to join in and perform ‘La Mourisque’, proclaiming WORLD BRASS DAY on 23rd September 2017.
